Research
A dominant theme in our research projects is studying stress responses in horticultural plants by using traditional and transgenic methodology. We analyze effects of different biotic (bacterial, fungal, viral, viroid infections) and abiotic stresses (heavy metal, extreme temperature, drought) aiming at developing stress resistant varieties. We study the genomes of cryptic plant viruses and their interactions with host plants. We are also involved in improving plant micropropagation methods.
